PREMISE
During my time at Ritzy Animation, we were commissioned by the University of Bristol to create a series of explainer films on the topic of Nuclear waste.
'Transcend' is the first of the batch and tells the story of how modern technologies are helping the treatment and disposal of nuclear waste, making nuclear a safe and clean energy source for the future.
DEVELOPMENT
This fast turnaround project had only a few days of preproduction time scheduled, but we wanted to capture the informative but cheerful nature of the explainer in the storyboards.
Nuclear Decommissioning is a sensitive topic with a large part of the population having minimal trust in nuclear power due to past incidents.
The clients at the University of Bristol wanted to create a piece that explains the vast amount of research accumulated around making nuclear power safe in order to be able to faster replace fossil fuels in the current climate crisis.
For the film I designed a hopeful, inspiring aesthetic with minimal features and shapes, soft textures and vibrant colours.
